- Rustic Queensland Cottages are located on a sunny, grassy, private two-acre lot with woods at the back. Queensland Beach is a pleasant four minute stroll down Conrads Road, a quiet cottage road. It is a beautiful, safe, sandy, lifeguard supervised beach great for swimming, boogie boarding or just relaxing in the sun with a good book.
Cottage details:
Cottage #1 and #2 each have one bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a converted sun porch with a single bed. The living room has a double fold out futon (sofa). The cottages rent for $695 per week plus 15% HST.
Cottage #3 is a large two bedroom with a queen size bed in one and a queen size bed plus single bed in the other. The living room has a double fold out futon (sofa), a loveseat and a full sized sofa. This rents for $895 per week plus 15% HST.
All the cottages come fully equipped with:
Three piece bath (shower) bath and beach towels, linen
Kitchenette fridge, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes
Barbeque on back deck
Fire pit at the back
Cable TV, telephone, DVD player (Cable TV/telephone not available in off-season)
Pet Policy
Pets welcome with prior permission.
A $50.00 surcharge will be applied for cleaning dog hairs, etc. If the cottage is in good order without requiring too much clean up from pets, a portion of this surcharge will be refunded.
As well as the initial surcharge above, additional charges will be applied if extensive damage/clean up is required.
Pets are not allowed on any furniture, especially beds.
Wet pets, coming from the beach, etc. are not allowed in the cottage until clean and dry.
Owners must pick up after pets and not allow them to wander around the other cottages.
Items of note:
No smoking allowed inside cottages
Drinkable well water
On a septic system - only small amounts of toilet paper put into toilets
Raccoons in the area do not approach, do not leave garbage out
Deer in the area be careful driving
Directions
From Halifax take NS Highway 103 West.
Take Exit 5 to Tantallon (you will see a Sobeys Mall at the off ramp lights).
Go left onto Highway 213.
At the lights (Superstore Mall), turn right onto Highway 3 (St. Margaret’s Bay Road).
Travel along the scenic coast until you come to Queensland Beach (about 20 minutes/20 km).
From blue community road sign saying “Queensland” go 3.5 km to Conrads Road. There is no Queensland Beach sign to indicate, but you will see the beach easily.
Conrads Road is the road to the left off the highway that runs between the beach on the left and the parking lot/lake on the right.
Continue a short distance until you see the sign for the Queensland Cottages on the left.
From Yarmouth take Highway 103 East to the Hubbards exit.
Turn left onto Highway 3.
Continue to Queensland Beach and follow above directions onto Conrads Road.
Halifax is a 40 minute drive and the Halifax International Airport is less than an hour drive.

Amenities
The village of Hubbards (less than five minutes by car), and the stores at the head of St. Margaret’s Bay (20 minutes by car) offer most amenities including: groceries, pharmacies, liquor stores, restaurants, video rentals, laundromat, fast food outlets, plus a variety of retail, craft, antique shops.
Local Interest
The Bike and Bean for coffee, brunch, lunch as well as bike rentals and access to bike and hiking trails.
The Trellis Café for bunch, lunch and dinner plus Friday and Saturday evening musical entertainment.
Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard eclectic shopping for antiques and gourmet gifts
Hubbard’s Landing for brunch, lunch and dinner as well as pizza delivery. There is a convenience store located at the landing that has DVD rentals.
The White Sails Bakery for all things yummy.
Several sea kayaking and paddling businesses are located in the area.
The Hubbard’s Farmers Market is open on Saturday from 8:00 am to noon May to October.

Tourist Sights
Along the scenic south shore, short drives can land you at Peggy’s Cove, Chester, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg. As well, many beautiful beaches spot this shoreline. Take a day trip across the province to the Bay of Fundy and the Annapolis Valley.
